I've not really tried using Raw mode before but I gave it a try last night in Photoshop CS after watching a tutorial video. I was impressed at how much easier and more effective changes are.

I can certainly see the advantages of using a raw format but I was wondering if there was an equivilant of the Luminance Smoothing & Color Noise Reduction options for jpg images? Those two raw options do an incredible job of remove ISO noise from images, but there seems to be nothing quite like them for normal jpg photos. I've tried the Blur and Noise options but these seem to blur the image too much and take away too much detail.

Anyone got any tips on how to get good noise clean up similar to RAW Luminance Smoothing that won't obliterate too much image detail?
