I have been trying my hand at some very basic editing.. I was wondering if there is an order to how it should be done. Basically I play with the brightness, Sharpness, and color booster.. Does it matter the order you change these things?

Brightness first and sharpness last. Everything else should be done in between those 2 unless you are working with layers.

Google's your friend here: just enter photo editing workflow

Everybody loves to talk about their workflow. Almost everybody agrees that sharpening is last.

I usually rotate the photo first (lol).

Then I crop it.

Then I do any other adjustments.

I must admit, I'm pretty lazy so I use the quick auto adjustment first to see if I like it.

If I don't like the auto, I "undo" it.

Then, if I'm still thinking the photo deserves more work, I will adjust the brightness and contrast.

Beyond that, I might "dodge" or "burn" the photo if it's really an awesome pic and deserves that extra level of attention.
