Is there a software progam that will put a date on each picture in a batch mode before printing so you don't have to do it with each picture.

Picture-shark will add any text to all photos in a given directory, and output them to a new directory.

Take a look at QImage - it can put much of EXIF data (date, f/stop, shutter speed, ...) on the print.
