Not always, sometimes you can get a better results by adjusting the flash power, you can do this by either setting this in full manual or more easily use the flash compensation setting on the camera. For starting out though just leave it in auto.

well, my suggestion is get the canon 430ex II or better yet the 580ex if have the extra moolah, though ofcourse there are other options out there but for me (IMO) canon works best with canon

> Nissin Di622 Speedlite

Canon Speedlite 580 EX II (my next gear to have)
