DIY Slave Flash Trigger success

I have the exact issue. The flash is reliably sensed, but the pattern is not stored and feedback LED flashes whatever it sees + 1.

I had issues getting a clean sample from his original circuit, so I reworked the analogue side.

If you have not tried to set it from other camera brand or model flashes try that just to prove it, also try setting it in a darkened room to see if ambient light is saturating the sensor.
Not much more I can say other than if it gets a good sample of the flash it does work...
