In the near future I'm going to buy my first DSLR, the Nikon D 80.

Which external flash would be suitable for that camera, the Nikon SB-600 or the SB-800?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!!

Th SB800 is a very good flash and has more power than the SB600. I personally decided to go with the SB600 at a significantly lower cost and have not regretted doing so. The SB600 has all the power I need and I really like the idea that it can be used off camera (wireless). I also beleive that Nikon probably has the best lighting system of all the different brands and you can get exceptional results if you couple your D80 with a Nikon external flash system. I am using my SB600 with a D70S and once I got used to using that flash my resulting images were very satisfying.

Hi PhotoFusion2,

Please forgive me for answering you that late but first I had technical problems with my PC and then I was not able to surf the Internet because there was something wrong with our phone.

Regarding your reply, I'd say the SB-600 would be an excellent choice. I believe that
I'll get it, too.

Best wishes to you,
