Default External flash for DSC 717

Help, please! I've just got a part-time job as a photographer for a local newspaper and have chosen to use my own trusty 717 over the paper's Nikon. But - I will need to get a flash with more oomph for some of the indoor shots required. Has anyone used a vivitar 2800 flash with the 717? Or would I be better to go directly for the HVL-F1000? All opinions/suggestions welcome.

From the two, I would go for the Sony flash.
The Sony flash give you "TTL" control of the flash , nothing to adjust in the hurry , and is not that pricy.
With the Vivitar , you are sticked with auto mode (only 2 f stop settings) or full manual , real bad choice for your job use.
