I purchased a Minolta Dimage Z3 back in November and have been having fun learning how to use it since I am a photography newbie. One thing I am not happy with is the range of the built in flash. I want to know what I need to do to be able to take indoor pictures (especially using the telephoto zoom) that come out properly exposed. They all come out too dark because of the minimal range of the built in flash. I've been looking at the Minolta Maxxum 2500 flash. Does anyone know if this flash will help me out? I don't know much about photography, but have been reading a lot of books on photography. Will this flash work with my camera? Will it be strong enough to illuminate subjects more that 10 feet away so that I can get some "natural" photographs of people -- I hate "posed" pictures. I emailed Minolta directly, and they never replied. Any help or advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

The 2500D should be fine:

Using the dedicated hot shoe flash connector you can attach the Minolta Maxxum Program Flash 5600 HS, Program Flash 3600 HS or 2500D (shown above) which offer versatile functions such as auto power zoom and test flash. The Macro Twin Flash 2400 provides flexible lighting for nature macro photography while the Macro Ring Flash 1200 offers shadowless lighting, ideal for medical and scientific use.
