Will the above flash work with the shoe on the Pentax ist DS?

Good chance it does work, as generic flash: manual and auto modes depending what's the flash feature, no ttl of course. The triggervoltage is low, only possible issue is polarity IMO.

Just for illustration purpose, when you connect an "innocent" ohmmeter (even a digital) to check the hotshoe contact for example, you just put 3v on it, and you have 50% of chance that it's at wrong polarity :G
