I'm trying to find a external flash that will work with my Nikon 8700. I need it to be used off camera (mounted on a tripod and rotator). Here's a picture of the rotator.

Since Nikon speedlights are so expensive I've been looking at others. I just don't have a clue as to what flash would be best for what I need it to do.

I need one that I can bounce the flash and would love one that is wireless. Is there anything out there that can do these things for me? All suggestions are appreciated. I need to make a decision soon and still haven't a clue.

I'd go for a Nikon flash to get the best results! Get a cable too. I know they are a bit pricey, but you won't have any regrets going with the original stuff. With the unoriginals flashs you get a flash that is often made for several brands with only small adjustments (i.e. the hotshoe) and it speaks for itself. It's an impossible task to make that kind of universal flash. You got THE camera, go for THE flash too!

Thanks much for your insight. I was going to wait for the sb-600 but couldn't wait any longer so I ended up purchasing the sb-800. I know all the goodies won't work on this camera but who knows maybe I'll upgrade in time to a digital slr and then it will be great. Thanks again
