Hi
I use an SB600 on top of a D70.

I've found that if I take a picture where there is something very light (say, a person wearing a white shirt) in the frame then the overall flash exposure is adjusted to this highlight.

Yes you'd expect this, but it happens even if this highlight is at the edge of the frame and I have the camera set to "spot" meter with the spot set to it's smallest.
Is this a setting I have wrong or is this just one of the things you have to live with?

Thanks

Sam

Is your flash set to AA mode? Set it to TTL so the flash adjusts power according to camera/lens data, not it's own off camera sensor.

Hi Marokero

Yes my flash is set to TTL. I've also tried it with the "BL" setting on or off with no noticable difference....
