I'm a dentist and interested in buying a Sony DSC-F828, I use to have a Nikon 5700. I take lot's of pics in peoples mouths and I think I need a ring flash. My Nikon worked great with a SB-29s ring flash, but really like the manual zoom on the Sony. I was wondering if there is a ring flash out there for the Sony. I found a slave one, but don't know if I'll get the same quality. Please help. I've been looking all over. Or should I just go back to the Nikon with the Ring flash?

Imagine that, I am in the same predicament, with a Sony DSC 717, and do not want to buy another camera, just for the dental practice. Have you had any luck tracking down a ring flash? Here is a link to a forum with a how-to, but a bit complex for me. I might build one as a last resort, though.

How about wireless intraoral cameras, should I look at buying one, or will my Sony do a better job? I just want my patient to see what is going on in their mouth when I present my cases.

Sony just announced a new Ring flash for the V3 camera. It seems to be compatible with the F717 and F828 (or I hope so)

Going down this page http://www.next-j.co.jp/camera/DSC-V3.htmlyou can see the flash in a picture. Some folks talk about January 2005 as availability date.
