I recently bought the slave flash after reading thru these forums. There is a lot of useful information here about slave flashes, which I couldn't find in other places.

Once I started playing with the flash I found a couple of interesting things that we can do.

I wanted "Test button" on this flash. But it is not there. So I found a workaround for test button.

Following is the procedure.

1. Put the flash in trigger on first flash mode. ( which is represented by "1").
2. Now get a house hold flash light or some light source (preferbly white shade)
3. Put that light quickly near the light sensor ( just above the red plastic cover on the front).
4. That light is enough to trigger the flash.
5. Volla.. we got a simulated test button

This method even triggers the flash two times quickly if the light source is moved quickly from side to side. After two times flash takes time to charge. May be with new batteries it may fire more times.

I hope this information is helpful

In the spec sheet above from Vivitar website, they stated that it has a test button:?

Hi KCan,

I checked the manual and flash. I don't see any button. Even Vivitar site doesn't say there is a test button. There is a hold button, but not test button.

If I am missing something plz let me know.
