Borrowed a Sunpak S383 flash from a friend of mine for a couple of days. Can't understand the features of the flash... Can I shoot in "p" mode with this flash? (The shutter speed seems to be tooo long). Do I have to "turn on' the exy. flash option in the camera??

This flash does not have TTL (through-the-lens) control so "P" mode is not your best choice. Your maximum shutter speed sync should be somewhere around 1/160 for the E-500so I'd use the camera in manual mode with a shutter speed somewhere between 1/60 and 1/160 and the flash in auto mode, setting the ISO on top and using one of the two distance scales on the side to determine which f/stop is best. If you don't have a manual there's a thread in the FLASH forum on this site where one member will e-mail you a copy.

The camera in manual, flash in auto is what I use for my Olympus E-1 when shooting with the 383.
