Hi, can anyone tell me if the S9500 is suitable to fit an external Flash with. I have been told previously that it isn't but having looked around the WWW I am unsure.

If yes can anyone tell me if they have used one themselves with this camera or know of someone and if so, what is the best Flash to use?

Cheers in advance. Paul.

Hey there, ive been using a bounce flash mounted to the hotshoe on top of my s9500 with great results, so yes it does support external flashes, via either hotshoe or pc sync, hope that helps

Absolutely.... using an old Sunpak Autozoom 3000 from my film days... works great. Much better than the built if flash.

I do have some concern that I need to look into.... this may be a high voltage (190V) trigger and the possibility of frying the flash trigger exists. (no problem with flashes made for digital cameras)

Anyone have a comment on this. So far it works OK.

Looks like the S9000/S9500 is good to go for me with the Sunpak Autozoom 3000 (190V trigger voltage)

Hello!

The SCA 301 is the "Normal" central contact type shoe, so that was the fitted at the store when you try the flash there...YES...this 301 is the "ONLY" SCA adapter that you need for your Fuji S9500. Also with the Metz model that you wrote... the combination of the camera & flash will be 100% OK at "Auto" settings...don't forget that your Fuji S9500 DON'T have any "Dedicated" feature.

Look my Metz flash with the same SCA 301!

Enjoy the combination,

Peace,
