If you have a Sony dSLR, I would recommend getting one of the sony branded Minolta flashes. The Minolta ADI flash system is quite good.

As for the flash you referenced, I would give it a very wide pass. If you really want a cheap flash, I think there are better alternatives, such as Sunpak or Sigma.

I have Sony DSC H5 at the moment. No hotshoe. So, I'm just looking for something that will give me some more light.

Coach-

I use slave flashes all the time on a variety of camera and slave flashes work very well. However, be sure to get a metal accessory bracket rather that plastic one in the E-Bay photo. The plastic ones break really easily.

Here is a sample photo taken using a using a combination of the Pentax K-100's built-in flash and a slave falsh with the head placed straight uo to provide a ceiling bounce position.

A gizmo to fire a slave flash, ignoring the first preflash are quite simple to make. Cost about £5. I enclose a shot of one I made , firing a Vivitar hammerhead from a compact flash

Here is another one that I made. Its rather gilding the lily a bit. It does exactly the same as the previous one, but it shows that "2" flashes were received.
