I got a new nikon D50, but I'm having trouble getting my Sunpak 544 to sync. On the old 35mm I could just set it on 1/60 sec and set the F-stop to whatever I wanted to use with the Flash. How do you setup the Nikon for the sunpak?

put the camera in manual expose mode and it should work the same as with your film camera

Are you using a PC Sync Cord via something like a Nikon AS-15, or are you trying to fire the 544 a different way?

Nikon AS-15 Hotshoe to PC Sync Port adapter at B&H?

Just use manual exposure on the camera and set the ISO speed and Aperture to match the settings on your Sunpak 544 and tweak if needed, using a shutter speed that lets in the desired amount of ambient light.
