I know the specs say the flash is good for 24 to 85 mm but I have been told this is the 35 mm lens description and that 24 converts to 16 mm digitally so therefore it should cover the complete 16 mm setting on my 16-45 lens.

Yes, I believe it does. I have the 360 and K100D, but no 16-45, just the 18-55 kit lens. I'll dig it out later and take a look for you. You might get more answers if you post this question on the Pentax/samsung DSLR forum here, I'm not sure that any of the regular posters look at threads here.

As I said earlier, I don't have a 16-45mm lens. When I have the 18-55mm kit lens on with the 360 flash in P-TTL mode and the lens is at the 18mm focal length, the LCD on the flash shows 16mm, this is the digital equiv. of 24mm on a full frame 35mm. I'm not sure why it shows 16mm when the lens is at 18, but I think the flash does not zoom like the lens, the flash zoom moves in increments, according to the manual it has the following settings (digital 1.5x equiv.) 16, 19, 24, 34, 48, 58. The corresponding 35mm equiv. wouldbe 24, 28, 35, 50, 70, 85. So it looks like the flash is picking the focal length increment closest to what the lens is set for. When I flip the wide angle diffuser down over the flash head the LCD reads 13mm when the lens is at 18mm. To make a long story short, it should work with the 16-45mm.

I picked up a Pentax 360 and the flash does cover at 16 mm.I'm very pleased with the 360...it seems to sync in nicely with my K10D, though I still have a long way to go to understand the whole flash.
