Welll, Mr Les Brown from Bogen assures me that he has a stock of the 3302 M3 and will upgrade any non-M3 module for free. Maybe he's just trading them out. Who knows.

Thanks for the info NHL,
I am rethinking about the adapter. If it doesn't handle properly bouncing situation , it does not worth . auto mode is at least reliable for the flash side ( with bouncing , diffuser ...)

Who said it doesn't handle bouncing? ADI mode is disabled but that makes sense because the camera can no longer assume a consistent guide number. TTL pre-flash should work fine.

From the Metz chart D7 with 3302 M3:

TTL flash control: No
TTL fil-in flash control: No
TTL flash exposure correction : Yes

I am confused ...

Perhaps Metz is being a little too precise. TTL as it's understood in the film world is real time. There is a sensor measuring the light bouncing off the film. It's usually in the bottom of the mirror box as on my F3. When enough light has reached the film the flash is shut off. IIRC the Olympus OM-2 was the first to offer that (for ambient light as well as flash) but it's everywhere now.

It's my understanding digicams can't do it in the same way. Light doesn't bounce off the CCD for a secondary sensor and the CCD can't set flash exposure in real time while recording an image. Pre-flash is used to measure an exposure and based on that the camera knows how long to make the flash burst. This wouold compensate for bouncing, filters, diffusers as would traditional film TTL.

Worth asking Metz about the terminology. They are very responsive.

Rikster,
Is that you on dpreview?
I have seen 45CT-4 for 200 Can$ this summer here. (45CT-4 is the predecessor of 45CL-4, same functionality) , new 45CL-4 is around 600Can$ ( taxes here is is 15%)
250 US$ for a perfect condition 45CL-4 (CL not CT) still is a good deal, I think. Make sure both tube are functional ( lil' switch in the back to set the 2nd tube on) , and all auto-mode , manual power reduced mode are functional.
