Default what sync cord for 580ll speedlite

Hi, I am not new to photography, but I am new to off camera flash. I have been over to the strobist blog to read lighting 101...still reading...I am slowly making my way through the manual...I thought maybe a cord would be a cheaper easier place to begin rather than wireless/pocket wizards. I didn't see a canon branded cord at BH...any advice for a beginner?

This is an off camera shoe cord from Canon. (this is what you need, though the thread covers other methods like 3 flashes)

This you might enjoy but its off topic
