Default Inexpensive flash for a P&S.

Just got a SX30 and looking to get a little better flash for indoor use. The Metz and canons are way out of my price range considering I only paid 300 for the camera.
I am just starting out in this hobby and need to build up slowly to the higher end stuff.
From what I have found while searching is I should get a TTL flash made to go on a Canon.
What would be a good starter flash with a tilt head for a budget minded (aka: poor) person?

Thanks for any input or advice guys and gals

I was hoping to be in the 50-75 range. I see the bowers and vivitars on fleabay in that range but don't know if they would last more then a couple days.

ebay, and look at yongnuo, they have 2 models in your budget range with e-ttl. The yn 467 and yn 468. That is about it in that price range for a dedicated canon e-ttl flash. Think they are available on amazon also. The are okay flashes, nothing special. But works.

Look for a Vivitar 2800D on eBay. Great value for money and they work great. Make SURE it's a 2800D, not just 2800.
