get a slave flash which fires when your camera flash fires. I use one and it works quite well.

The unit you linked to should work, but it doesn't communicate with the camera to control exposure. You would have to set exposure manually, or use an auto-thyristor type flash, which has a light sensor.

HI Brian

so id set the zoom level on the Kodak P20 flash?

id be using it for car photography and only use the flash as a back light so to speak or to brighten up say the back of the car so its all in proportion I dont mind having to set stuff up manual yes will take longer but id rather walk before i can run so this maybe a nice way to learn :) I just need to know if its the zoom i use in manual mode on the P20 flash that controls the brightness of the flash?

Regards

Martin

Using the flash off camera, you will need to set the zoom manually, to control the width of the flash beam, but the brightness would have to be set by the power level control. I would suggest starting with 1/4 setting and going up or down from there.
