Default sb 700 beeps

I'm trying to fire my sb 700 off camera in a softbox. I have it set wirelessly w/ my nikon d90. Everytime I fire depending where I'm shooting it has two different series of beeps??? What does this mean? Thanks.

Check the user manual, certain beeps indicate good exposure, others indicate underexposed and even others indicate flash ready.

Nikon wireless flash control is actually done with coded flashes from the commander speedlight. The most reliable remote flash is when the SB700 remote sensor is in line of sight of the commander flash. Once the sensor is out of sight the reliability decreases even though it may work around corners to a certain extent. Is the flash unit buried in the softbox? If so can you get the sensor exposed to the commander?
