Default Flash brackets for Olympus C-3020?

I have quickly figured out that the built in flash in my C-3020 leaves something to be desired. I have a Vivitar bounce flash from my SLR that I figure I could use with a slave.

Okay, that looks like the technology problem is solved (is it?), now the problem is attaching the flash to the camera.

So far I've found three types of flash brackets.

a) Has an handle and the flash mounts on top of the handle. The top of the handle is about 2" higher than the top of the camera so the flash would be about 6" above the camera.

b) a flat, straight bar that sets the flash out to the side but the flash winds up only being a couple inches above the camera.

c) similar to b) except that the end of the bar is angled so the flash is in front of the camera.

Any advice on which I should get?

Thanks.

The 3020 does a pre-flash, so make sure that your slave trigger can be set to fire on the second flash.

I bought a Vivitar D200 to work with my 3020. The D200 works ok, but the flash bracket that comes with it is plastic and very flimsy/ wobbly when you have it adjusted so that the flash is as far from the lens as possible. One of these days, I'll get a proper bracket.

Check the Olympus website for the flash bracket and cable you need. Mine uses a FB-01 with CB-01. They are both well made, very sturdy, comfortable to use, and extremely proprietary and expensive.I don't know about your specific requirements, but the Oly website is the best place to start. Then findthe used parts you needon eBay that's reasonable.
