Default external flash for Olympus E-20N

Hello. I have just purchased an Olympus E-20N and need an external flash. I know about the FL-40 Olympus flash but would like more power than it's GN of 40. I need suggestions of more powerful flashes that will work TTL with this camera without doing any damage. Thank you for your time.

You can go with Metz 60 or 70 series , witch have corresponding SCA adapter

Look at the Metz 45CL-4 as well. A terrific and extremely versatile flash.

Blue...

Your reading the specs incorrectly...the FL 40 has a MUCH higher GN....

Read the specs...

sorry, I didn't notice this posted when i responded to your other post. (sigh)

Manufacturer: Olympus

Modell: E-20P (E-20N is effectively identical)

Flash guns:
mecablitz 45 CL-4
mecablitz 60 CT-4
Heck, looks as though you can use any of them.....

Adapter: SCA 3202

No indication that you need any special cable; you may need to specify your camera at purchase.

P.S. The GN listed for many strobes is in meters. Thus, GN= 40m ~=130ft at ISO 100/35mm. You need to pay attention when comparison shopping; some are at 50mm or even 85mm.

Since Damien* already straightned out the GN rating, may I also suggest the Metz 54MZ-3? I'm not sure how much more power you need, but the 54MZ-3 has a GN 54 (177) and it's hot-shoe mountable. You'll get full TTL compatibility using the previously mentioned SCA 3202 adapter. Depending where you live, it may actually cost less than the FL-40 (in the USA it costs more).
