My girlfriend and I, in merging our lives, are trying to merge our equipement as well. I wanted to use her Metz 45 series flash on my Nikon D70, but was told by a fellow at B&H here in NY that they arent compatible. Is this true? Seems in a world of accessories that there must be something to connect 2 huge selling products like these.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

It depends on how you define compatible...

If you want an older Metz 45 to work in the new i-TTL mode of the Nikon then NO; However with a PC-cord sync adapter through the D70 hotshoe then - Yes :?

The camera is 1st set on manual at X-sync shutter speed and an aperture to match the dial reading of the Metz 45 on automatic then this combination works just fine

perfect, thanks for the quick reply. The downside, your name bummed me out by reminding me of the absence of hockey this season. sigh.
