Hi Forum,

During Christmas I packed my SB 800 in my camera case andtook a short ride. When I pulled the SB 800 out,the LCD had a wide crack under the plastic, the plastic covering was fine. I thought it was cold so I waited, of course no change. Half the display was showing. Well, I just got the bad news, $168 to repair. I can't understand what happened. It is still under warranty, butNikon is not going to repair.

Well there are worse things like a broken D70.

Regards,

Nadia

I thought it was thermal shock, but after reading that you placed both camera and flash in a camera bag, that was less likely. However, maybe something went awry inside the bag? Hard to tell. Good luck though!

Hi Marokero,

Should I keep the light separate? They were next to each other as have done for the past 6 months and may be they knocked into each other. The carride was smooth and the cameracase was secure. May be the LCD is very sensitive to little bumps. I am buying a new camera case since the one I have is not large enough. Thanks for your response.

Regards,

Nadia

It's better to have them separated whithin the bag - many bags have padded separators that protect your gear from bumps.
