Default FL-40 Battery alternatives, ???CR-V3

Hey there,

I am wondering, are there any long-lasting battery alternatives for the FL-40 unit?

Does anyone know if it is compatible with CR-V3's?

Would like to know...thanks

I don't own the FL-40 so can't be of much help. I've been using a set of 1600mAh NiMH's on my Metz, and I was able to get 200+ flashes out of a single set before the recycle times got too long. You can also try the Energizer AA lithiums. If the FL-40 battery compartment has some folds to more or less separate each battery in its compatment then the CRV3's will not fit. The CRV3's may look just like two AA's stuck together, but on one side (lengthwise) it's flat. Looking from the top of a CRV3 and a set of two AA's, this is what they'd look like:

D - CRV3

O - AA's

Hope that helps

What are you using now? I have no problem at all with my FL-40 and 1800 mah Nimh's. Many, many flashes.
