Last weekend I was at a MX race and another photographer was there with his Nikon Digital. He was using an external flash to fill in the faces and brighten to colors he said. We were about 15 to 20 feet away most of the time. So I am wondering what I have to do to make this happen on my Canon 10D & Sigma flash? Thank you for your help. Pat

Using fill flash in daytime certainly can make for better pictures.

Your biggest problem may be a couple of these motorcycle riders getting cranky about the flashes if theyhurtle by within 20 feet of you.

If they threaten to put your camera in any orifice whatsoever, it's best to turn the flash off.

I was able to talk again to the other photographer and he was using rear curtin sync and shutter speed proirty.

Not one of the riders commented on the flash he told me.

Here is one of my photos that I think could have come out better with flash, an f2.8 lens would have been nice as well.
