I want to upgrade My SB28DX to a SB80DX or A SB 800 nikon flash. Does anyone out there have any opinions???

I think the SB-80DX is no longer made, so the SB-800 would be your likely candidate anyway. I have both, one SB-80DX and two SB-800's, the 800's outperform the 80 in flash recycle thanks to the fifth battery accessory. The 800 also provides more constant light output from flash to flash, better automatic metering, and a wider autofocus assist light pattern.

You sold me on the 800. I could have a new 80DX for $331.00 or a pick of two used that appear to be new for $250.00 each. The SB800 is $349.00 so I will probably see if I can trade in My SB28DX on it. If not I will put the SB28DX on E-Bay and purchase it anyway. The SB28DX works OK but I would just like to try a newer one. You probably know what I mean. I just wanna!!!!:-?I don't really know why????

You can get SB-800's from B&H for $319.95 and then get a $25 rebate from Nikon
