Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I posted this question yesterday in another forum and got no results. Now I see there's a forum just for flash so here goes.

Does anyone have a Promaster Flash unit like the 7500DX Digital Flash that has the strobe feature? Can you tell me about it?

Does anyone have a KM flash unit like the Minolta 5600HS Flash that has the strobe feature? Can you tell me about it?

Does anyone have a flash unit made by another maker with strobe? Can you tell me about it?

In case you can't figure this out I want a flash unit that has the strobe feature.

I'm will be using it for a KM A200

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Gary Dannenbaum

Well, it appears that the 5600 is the only KM flash that has a stobe or multi mode. Correct?

The 5600 is quite costly. True?

Is it worth it to pay extra for an OEM unit? Other manufacturers make a somewhat comparable unit.

I'd like your opinion.

Thanks,
Gary

yes it is the only KM flash w/strobe

there are others that will give you excellent results now

it is a well put together product. another unit you might want to give some serious looking into is the SigmaEF 500 DG Super Electronic Flash. had this unit been out when i got my 5600D (came out over 6 months later) i probably would have the sigma unit truthfully.

hope that helps

Thanks for the recommendation but after looking at the Sigma website they don't seem to compatible with the KM A200 at this time.

What camera do you use?

sjms is correct - The Sigma EF-500 DG Super is compatible with the 'digital' Minoltas: http://www.pbase.com/mtf_foto_studies/mtf_faq#Flash4

No - I have both the Minolta and Canon version of the EF-500 DG Super: The high-speed stroboscope feature is present on both (also when you hit 'preview' on the camera they also strobe/pulse rapidly so you can estimate the shadow cast...)
