i know DC1 will work with S2 IS becoz that's what canon says. but i'm on the look out for a bouncecapable flash to go with the powershot. so the DC1 is not for me. you hv an alternative via a slave flash which works by detecting the camera's flash brightness & fires its own. so far i've read about vivitar DF200 & phoenix D92-BZ5. both are bounce capable slave flash. i'd like to get a confirmation of those who have either of those models on the capability to work with any camera, & their opinion about the perfomance

Hi,

Could you tell me where did you read about the DC1 being compatable with the S2 IS ?

I`m asking because i allready have a A510 and maybe looking to buy a S2 IS.....i could then get the flash that works easy with both cameras.

Thanks

canon's press release states it, under "optional accesories"

Thanks,

The article says that the build in flash has a range of 5.2m(17.2ft)....thats looks pretty impressive....wonder if this additional flash is really necessary....if it can double the range then it`s ok ,,,but will it ? :?

i'm sure the DC1 is a more powerful flash than the built-in one. & since it functions wirelessly, youdon't hv tofix it to the camera, maybeplace it somewhere else, to elliminate shadow. but for me, i prefer a swivel/bounce type so i can play around with the flash while still attached to the body
