Default ring flash on the 5700

I'm trying to use a ring flash on my 5700 for intraoral pictures. I put the speedlight setting to auto like the instructions said and the built-in flash still goes off. I set the camera to 1/4000 and ISO of 100 and the images are still completely overexposed. Any suggestions?

Default Using Nikon CP 5700 with external ring flash.

Check out www.dadsphotography.com. They make a fiber optic cable that attaches to the Nikon SB29_s Macro Speedlight that allows TTL exposure control of the flash. Can be adapted to all of the Nikon CoolPix Cameras including the CP 5700. My residents use the CP 4500/SB-29 Flash and get excellent results.

Good Luck,

Hi there.
I have a sony F707.
Had the same problem, no ringflash for intra oral photo.
Made from a plexiglas plate that fits around my lens a diffuser. It transfers the light from the internal flash to all surroundings. From a certain distance( 5-10 cm) i have no shadows or what so ever.
A very cheap result with good effect.
It may work with the nikon too.
Greetings Fillip
