I have yet to buy myself a flash however it is becoming more and more aparent that i need one. I'm looking for a long range flash that I can use for sports photography as well as a fill flash for portraits. I hear the ProMaster is good at this. I use a Canon Digital Rebel if that makes a difference. But primarily wondering what you all think of this flash? Thanks in advance!

I'm also considering the 7500DX, but for a Minolta Dimage A200.

The Promaster web site shows it's compatible with the digital rebel. You can get more detailed info on how it works by downloading the manual from their site:

http://www.promaster.com/support/boo...als/7500DX.pdf

Also this forum has some threads on the 7500DX: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/

Just type Promaster 7500DX in the "search box".

The features seem too good to be true for the price ($139 at new2.onecall.com). If it works on my Dimage it will be my first choice.

I just got a response from Promaster and they tell me the following:

The Promaster 7500DX for Minlota digital cameras #9809 will work with the
Dimage A200. The power zoom does change automatically as you adjust the
zoom lens on the camera.
The 7500DX works TTL in all modes. In manual exposure you can set the
flash
to full power, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64, power.
You cannot set the cameras flash setting to manual with this flash. You
control
manual power from the flash with the 7500DX not from the camera.

The Dimage A200 instruction manual states that you can not control any hot shoe flash when the camera is in manual flash mode so this is not peculiar to the Promaster Flash.

I decided to got the 7500DX for my minolta dimage A200. It works fine. TTL is fine, power zoom tracks my lens movements as descibed. It's even got a 2 channel wireless ttl mode. Too bad my camera does not have a wireless transmitter. I think the Canon version is just a dumb slave. Manual features all work the way they should. I have to boost the flash compensation on my camera to about +.7 if I'm shooting at distances more than about 10 feet, but I kind of expected that based on some other reviews I've read. I took it outside last night in the dark and stood about 35 feet from my house and took a shot at about 100mm. It did a great job of lighting up my photo of my front door. The bounce with the secondary fill flash is a nice feature also. Battery recycle time seems quick, it was always ready for my next shot. It's a big unit relative to my camera, but on an SLR I think it will feel fine. I read some comments saying they though the build quality was poor, but it seems solid enough for my purposes. All in all I'm pleased. The best price I found for it was at new2.onecall.com their service was excellent.
