Dear All,

I owned a Pentax AF-500FTZ flash and Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2. I plan to use my Pentax flash on my Minolta Z2, does anyone know how to connect these two products together. I also like to have TTL function if possible.

Thank you.

Regards,

Francis

nitehawk, ttl is only available with minolta flashes:

and also some Sigma model which are dedicated to Minolta. Your Pentaz flash can't work ttl with your camera.

As for connecting your Pentax flash or any generic flashes, you can use the PCT-100 from Minolta to provide you a PC sync connector. (you can also use it for studio strobe as well)

Thank you for the information.

What additional functions will I have if I attached 5600HS(D) or 3600HS(D) onto Z2? Where can I buy PTCT-100?

Thanks.

So no need to set/change ISO and aperture manually or zoom flash manually, just let camera and flash negotiate those.

But instead of proprietary flash I would suggest flash from Metz's MZ-serie (/SCA-models). By changing adapter those can be fitted to standard hot shoe or proprietary brand shoes with working special functions. (no need to change whole flash if you change camera brand)
