Anyone have good strong feelings for which is the best flash for the Lumix FZ-30?

Yo Bruce, ya might wanna check down in the Panasonic discussion forum in regards to your question. There`s been lot`s of discussion on that subject there.

You'll fine that the Sunpak 383 comes frequently mentioned in the Panasonic forum. I went for this using this recommendation, after finding out that the trigger voltage on my aged Vivitar 283 would be likely to blow the electronics on my new FZ30. It was a Japanese model and not the more recent Chinese one with lower trigger voltage. Anyway, the Sunpak produced excellent results bouncing it of the ceiling at Christmas time ... see my recent post in that forum.

I have the Sunpak 383 which I bought for 60 us dollars.

It's a pretty good flash.

Obviously if you have a lot more money to spend, you can probably get something a little more whiz bang.

But if you're just trying to throw some light into the scene, the Sunpak 383 is going to be a huge improvement over the built in flash.
