I have Nikon D50 and I am looking ahead with Sigma flashes (500 DG Super & 500 DG ST). I am a Newbie to Flashes and I don't know how these both flashes differ from each other.

I welcome all your suggestions in related tousing 3rd party flashes with Nikon D50 as I want totrigger the flash wirelessly with the built-in flash. I can't go ahead with SB-600 or SB-800 as I can't trigger them with Nikon D50 wirelessly. Inorder to do that I have to have two SB-800's which will be way out of my budget.

Sowould like to know if any of 3 party flashes like Sigmaor Sunpak can give this faiclity. I am fine evenif these flashes don't support all the Nikon features wirelessly.

Following statement is from the above website. Here Ken says that D50 can't trigger SB-600 or SB-800 as D50 does not have the commander mode like D70. If we need to then we have to either use SU-800 or SB-800 to trigger SB-600 or SB-800. But please do respond who are using nikon flashes. Thanks.

" The D50 needsSU-800for wireless control, since the D50's flash isn't smart enough to do it by itself.

You used to have to buy a big SB-800 flash to do the same thing as the smaller SU-800 controller. The SB-800 was pretty big just as a remote commander. Even though the SU-800 is much smaller than the SB-800 Nikon made sure that the price is similar: the SU-800 sells for about $250. "

Why not??? - The D50 will trigger both just fine...

The Sigma EF 500DG Super will work wirelessly - not the EF 500DG ST
