Hi all, Ive just brought a used canon 1d, I already have a 350d which I use my sigma ef500dg st flash on and it works great.

Ive just tried it on the 1d in M mode and for some reasonthe pictures are always well under expossed almost black most of them. The only way I seem to be able to get them to be anything like it is by using a shutter speed around 1 sec which is way to slow to freeze anything.

I do think there must be something ive been overlooking but just cant find it yet, the flash does fire but its almost as though the flash fires to late, hence why the slower shutter speed works.

Please help me someone.

Many Thanks Jim

Hi Jim, you have said that you are satisfied with 350D and Sigma 500 DG ST. I have got the same set and here are few problems I am facing. In E-TTL mode (Auto), photos are always under exposed. I am always using the flash in manual mode. At full flash mode, the recycle time is 6secs(with 2300mah Ni-Mh batteries). So I always use 1/16 power and switch over between ISO and adjust aperture very frequently. What is your experience? Will be appreciated. Regards, Adiseshanaik
