Default ST-E2 AS A FOCUS ASSIST BEAM ON TEH 10D

USING THE ST-E2 AS A CANON 10D FOCUS ASSIST BEAM.

Steve says that the Canon ST-E2 wireless transmitter can be used as a low light focus assist beam on the Canon 10d. Can anyone explain to me how I can get this to work? I have both the 10D and the ST-E2.

with thanks

Tony

I've been researching the 10D, but I don't have it yet. So this is from memory, not experience.

I believe there is a custom setting which disables the flash always. If I remember correctly, this doesn't disable focus assist beam on the flash. You could try asking in the Canon SLR section. Many people there have the 10D
