I know very little about the Canon flash system. So, there are members more qualified to answer this.

However, since I've seen that you've asked this question several times without responses, I'll throw in my "two cents worth".

This strobe appears to be designed for dedicated use only with no manual power settings. So, you would have no ability to control it's output power, even *if* you can get it to fire using an optical trigger designed to ignore your camera's preflash.

So, I'd look for another solution in a slave flash (and make sure it's "digital aware" if you plan to use one with built in ability to act as a slave, firing when it sees the camera's main flash). Some slaves will attempt to fire when they see a preflash from the camera, which will leave you with underexposed images.

A "Digital Aware" slave (or slave trigger) is designed to ignore the metering preflash most Digital Cameras will use.

I agrre with JimC; the best option is a "digital ready" slave flash with some possible settings like partial power and/or better some aperture settings for auto mode
