I'm looking for firmware updates for my FinePix s5500.

Is there some available ?

From all my research, they are not providing firmware updates for this particular line.

Could you be a little more specific about what kind of additional JPEG compression you are looking for? I don't fully understand what the problem is, or if there is a problem. If you are looking for higher JPEG compression, you can use image editing software to achieve that, but you are going to lower the quality of your images and will probably introduce a lot of JPEG artifacts into your work.
