5000 now or wait for 7000

I guess the upcoming 7000 and the release of the minolta z1 has dropped the price of the 5000.

it's now online for $332 shipped. . . . .when we looked at it at our local ritz they wanted $499 (they still do  )

the 7000 is supposed to retail at $799 so I suspect that it could be found for 700-750 online after it's release.

I was planning on waiting for the 7000 because of two particular features the hot shoe and ISO 800 at 3MP. (5000 only does 800 at 1mp and has no hot shoe) but at $332 I don't know if I can pass. My wife and I have been using a point and shoot 3mp camera and are quickly realizing it's limitations now that we are wanting to have more control over exposure.

should we get the 5000 now?

nevermind . . . . I ordered the 5000 with a 256MB XD card from newegg. couldn't pass up that price and we have a family that wants us to take their pictures this weekend so I should have the 5000 by friday and have a couple of solid days to get aquainted with it before we photograph them on sunday.
