Default A303/203 v.s. 2600

This concerns the reviews on Steve's Digitcams.

Is it me or are the a303 pictures not as vivid as those of the 2600 and 2800?

Picture comparisons alone do not always tell the whole story. If Steve shoots very high res. test slides or poster pictures under identical reference lighting conditions, with cams in auto it might just be differences in each cams auto level.

I think the most important thing about Steve's picture's is to look at the results for the range of scenes for a specific camera. I'd rather have a cam which performed well for bright and darker scenes, than just for the beach in Summer!

Sometimes slight under exposure avoids burned out highlights, and controlled correction can be applied later without loss of highlight detail. I feel my s602 does this in point and shoot auto mode. But I'm happy it's in this direction.

Try comparing the histograms and RGB levels of identical pic areas of each downloaded pic first in a photo editor. BUT for direct comparison they should really be the same views and lighting.
