When I first got my S7000 I used some Alkaline Batteries. Now I am using Rechargable 2000MA batteries. The flash pictures appear to be a little darker. Could the type of battery make a difference? I always thought it was some type of capacitor that built up a charge and then released the flash so it wouldn't make any difference. Any thoughts?

Technically there should NO reason for any difference, as you have proposed. The Flash cap WILL build up MUCH faster on NiMH'ds, but the camera only fires when the cap reaches a set level (=storage energy). I can't see any reason for your findings .. did you change the FEC in the settings??
PS: Alkalines should only be used in an emergency. They have very POOR usage / life in any digital camera.
