Named after the famous glass sculptor, Dale Chihuly. Shot on a bright, sunny afternoon using ambient light from the window. These are some of the most photogenic roses I grow.

Nicely done. I find in some areas due to the reflection from the water it looks like "hotspots". The second leaf (top edge) on the first one is glaring.

Thanks. Yeah. It's killer. Almost blinding. I'm anxious to see some of your images.

Hi, I really like the way the rose stands out from the dark background. The sparkle from the water droplets just add to the beauty.
I hope you don't mind if I ask a newbie question for my learning - How do you get this dark background? Did you just shift the rose to a darker background, or did you employ some high shutter speed flash technique together with the ambient light? |

You may want to pick Scott Kelby's "The Digital Photography Book". It's got all kinds of cool tips (like this one) an it's a real easy, non-tech read.
