I am new to this forum, so if this question is posted twice please forgive me.
I am just now entering the exciting world of digital photography at age 50. I have found two entry level Fujifilm cameras, The Finepix 2650 and the A205. The only difference between the two, as far as I can determine, is the cradle capabilities of the A205. Does anyone have an opinion on which is the better camera of the two? Thank you, John |

To be frank with you; I'd suggest you look elsewhere for a starter digital camera. I used to be a big believer in the Fuji 2650, and while it does have some very lovely features... it is an older model. You could get a different digital for a similar price that will do far more for you than the 2650.
I have discovered over the past month that the 2650 is more susceptible to breakage when dropped due to its raised mount LCD. A customer of mine dropped her newly purchased 2650 about 4 feet, and the LCD cracked right open. While dropping a digital is generally poison to any camera... the raised LCD gave absolutely no chance for survival. May I suggest the Canon A60 (Price is going down as we speak...), the Kodak 6430 or the Olympus D-390. Each has something to offer and would do well in the hands of a new photographer. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me or come by my website. http://www.kenkosowan.fotopic.net |
