So, I'm not entirely sure of the differences between both of those but I'm pretty set on the F31. I was turned off of this after seeing the price difference for the F31fd and pretty much decided on the F30. Since then, I've found somewhere that does the F31fd for about the same price as I can get the F30 for - around £130 ($260-270).
I see some people seem to prefer the F30 over the F31, which I thought was a little strange? Isn't the F31 the same camera with just a little more stuff on it? I was puzzled why the F30 would be considered better if we're forgetting about price here. I'm about to go ahead and order myself the f31fd and figured I'd like to hear some others opinions on why you (or someone else) prefer the F30? Gracias |

The two cameras are identical, except for face detection (F31), IR communication (F31), and a different processing algorithym which gives the F31 a somewhat less agressive noise reduction. Here's a direct comparison..
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilmf31fd/page6.asp Some people might prefer the lower noise of the F30 at the cost of loss of detail. Regarding price, I don't know where you are, but Beach camera is selling the F31 for $227, and after the $30 mail-in rebate, the net cost is under $200. Good luck with your choice. the Hun |

I don't get the rebate reference for the F31fd. I would guess that the rebate is only good for new Cameras and since the f31fd is not manufactured anymore, what good does that do anyone?
