I wouldn't bet the house on it. It's not unusual to see some voltage variation from what the label says on one and that's only about 12% over. Hopefully, that's what it is though.

If you can find a store nearby that has a demo Fuji model using the same battery, I'd see if they would let you try one in your camera to see if that's the problem.

I'll try it out and get back to you on the outcome, had it not been for you i probably would have replaced the camera, but being a poor student I can't really do that right now, so you have given me hope!
