I am brand new to dig. cameras. The 5000 sometimes has a yellow tint in indoor shots. Is there a way through settings or filters or processing to correct this?

Hello pilgrim, I'm a bit new to this myself but the yellow tint could be due to white balance settings in your camera. There are usually settings for sunny, cloudy and various types of indoor lighting such as incandescant or fuorescent. If i take a photo indoors at night i have to set mine to incandescant and when i change it i can see the difference on the lcd. Try it out and see if that's the problem. :-)
