1st- F80EXR
Successor to the F70EXR. http://www.fujifilmusa.com/products/...exr/index.html It offers some new scene modes and stuff, but that's not really important. Let's go over the real differences.
2nd - Z700EXR http://www.fujifilmusa.com/products/...exr/index.html Basically it uses the same sensor and EXR technology of the F80EXR, but with a different design and a few different features. Differences from F80EXR-

Can't really call this an upgrade but I wonder how automatic modes handle everyday shooting! I hear many ditching fuji for other brandsdue to cameras liking high iso.
I really liked fuji because of the s3800. It was so automatic and of course it had it's blurry moments but it was nice. Low iso noise etc, it wasnt till the s2000hd where I had to play with P modes and such. I been dabling with the s200exr and I like the iso noise around 800. After that, it's just is okay. I hope these new cameras are newbie friendly. |

Cresho,
I agree, not much of an upgrade. Just a minor incremental change. Enough that new users would choose the f80exr over the f70exr, but not enough to make existing users upgrade. I don't expect it to be any more newbie friendly. I expect that the set-up will be identical to the f70exr, unless they really overhauled the auto-modes on the camera (which I doubt they did). But we will see. For me, its a missed opportunity. The EXR system really has alot of potential, and if they would just do it right, and make it accessable for those without the patience or desire to setup themselves, they would really be on to something. Maybe in the next generation. Still, good tools for those willing to put in the time to understand it. I enjoy mine for what it is. |

I am planning to get F80EXR. Is it worth the money over F70EXR as I see there is not much change worth the extra bucks.

Hey Hards80,
does the z700 also has the pro low light feature? on the spec sheet, fuji wrote "pro low light" on the f80, but not on the z700. Will it perform as good as f70/f80 on low light condition? these are the spec sheet on fujifilmusa.com pages for f80 SP: Pro Focus Mode, Pro Low-light Mode, Portrait, Portrait Enhancer, Dog, Cat, Landscape, Sport, Night, Night (Tripod), Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Party, Flower, Text and these are for z700 SP: Portrait, Portrait Enhancer, Landscape, Sport, Night, Night (Tripod), Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Party, Flower, Text, Dog, Cat Last edited by sliverz; May 20, 2010 at 12:55 AM. |

sliverz.
i don't believe that it does have pro low-light mode in the z700exr. i checked the online user manual and it is not there, despite their announcement when the camera first came out that it did. the pro low-light is really only useful for stationary non-moving subjects since it takes 4 photographs and puts them together. i have personally never even used this feature. general low-light photography with this camera should be the same as the f80exr for regular shooting conditions, following the guidelines for shooting that i lay out in this thread: http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fu...gs-update.html

Thanks for the clarification, looks like it is also not important for me.
I ask this because I just saw it on you tube, the movie with fuji guys: top feature of fuji z700exr: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp8qbPRs4_E they mention this camera has a pro low light and pro focus feature. but I also can't find it anywhere on the brochure, manual, and their sites. I think they just assume if it is exr, it must have the pro low light feature. |

I actually had assumed it did too. And it was included in their press announcement when they first showed the world the camera. not sure why or how it got left off of the production model.
